Sargie's helping to hang the power station from the ceiling of the garage on Sunday afternoon |

I believe this is going to be the best day of the early spring. I know I've said it before, but I'm suffering from a horrendous case of spring fever and not sure why. We've had the nicest winter, yet, I'm acting like I've been caged inside for the past six months. That's not the case. I've played outdoors more this winter than I have all the others combined. As the doctor is so fond of saying, it must be "age related."
Two more work lights were hung in the shop first thing Sunday morning. My need for more light continues to increase, at least if I want to see what I'm doing.
I found both LED work lights in Escanaba last week for $14 each, quite the bargain. I disassembled the stands yesterday morning and improvised until I could hang one from the ceiling, the other high on a wall.
Since it was Sargie's last day of vacation, she wasn't in any hurry to do anything, so I remained in the shop and began working on the next strawberry pyramid.
I thought if I could get the chisel work and base on one, I'd be happy.
Then came the upright supports. I couldn't believe it. It wasn't yet noon and the pyramid was ready for the shelves to be cut and attached. I picked 'em up and put 'em down Sunday morning!
Sargie and I left shortly after for a ride into town and then around the surrounding area. It was a beautiful and warm day, perfect for doing absolutely nothing and everything, as long as one was out of doors.
We arrived home mid afternoon and hungry, I cut up a package of boneless chicken breasts that were discovered the other night in the bottom of the freezer. Sargie got to work cutting up potatoes, those from last year's garden, to make raw fries. (Outside of Foster City, referred to as American fries... or simply, sliced taters.)
Two major food groups, fried chicken and fried taters. |
While I was finishing in the garage, Sargie filled the wheel barrow with firewood to be brought in. It was almost dark before we called it a day.
Sargie's back to work today, her vacations earned this past year are over. She opens the Vision Center this morning.
I'm going to walk my three miles then work on the strawberry pyramid. My goal is to have the final two finished and all six delivered this weekend.
I'm planning on bringing more firewood from the back pile under the tarp this afternoon, working it up, and continue to fill the wood shed for next year.
But first, it's time to sip another cup of coffee and listen to the news.
After all, a man's work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road...
