OH NO!!! It appears Elf on a Shelf has visited Abigail and Coleman's house and is up to his pre-Christmas pranks. My son, Luke, sent pictures of the latest shenanigans that have been going on. |

Pentoga Road
After a busy Tuesday, this morning’s going to be much the
same, then Mom arrives shortly afternoon in Iron Mountain and the Christmas
season on Pentoga Road will officially begin.
Sargie spent most of Sunday wrapping presents… lots and lots
of presents. Since we’re not sure when and where we’ll meet up with anyone, she
has them separated into boxes and large bags. If a family member stays with us
on Christmas Eve, the presents will go back under the tree. If not, they’ll be
delivered at the big Mighty Milligan Christmas Eve gathering to be taken home
and opened on Christmas morning. When it comes to gifts, wrapping, and giving,
Sargie has this whole thing down pat.
Abigail definitely got Elfed! |
She did take time out to help me get the four-wheeler
unstuck on Tuesday morning. I was plowing a few inches of light snow from the
drive when it slipped off to one side. That wasn’t too bad and I figured as
long as I was off the lip of the drive, I could continue around through the
yard (and snow) to the back of the house, do some plowing alongside the patio,
then back onto the drive.
I made it to the back, but managed to become mired in snow
on top of ice and there I sat. I ended up pulling the four-wheeler out using
the Blazer with Sargie’s help.
Part of the day was spent closing out this semester’s
grades. I am officially NOT teaching… for the next three weeks, then it all
begins again. I checked last night and it appears this next semester’s
undergraduate class is also full to overflowing. I think between the two
sections, I could have over fifty students this coming semester.
I sneaked from the house late yesterday afternoon for two
quick hours of ice fishing. Though it was better than it has been, I don’t count
a few light bites along with catching a small bluegill and a little bass as
meaning I had a successful outing. Still, it was more action than has occurred
so far this season. Everyone seems to be talking how lousy the fishing is this
year. Hopefully, it will improve after Andy arrives. I promised that boy some
action and hate to disappoint him.
Sargie wrapped presents well into the late evening hours
before finishing for the year. I still have a few things left and I’ll be done.
It’s time to begin cleaning the house. I vacuumed the
upstairs last night and need to dust and do the same on the first floor. Sargie
wants me to get her up early this morning so she can help. She goes in to work
late today and closes tonight. Thankfully, her schedule for this next week seems
to be a good one and for that, we’re both grateful.
First, I need to grab another cup of coffee and listen to
the news.
A man’s work is never done you know.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road…
And Coleman was Elfed too! |
