Pentoga Road
It’s with a head full of cobwebs that I write today. I wish
I could learn how to turn sleep off or on. Yesterday, Sargie was off of work and I
could have stayed in bed and snoozed as late as I wanted. Instead, I was up and
at ‘em at the crack of dawn. My body wanted to stay between the sheets this
morning when the alarm rang. Since Sargie doesn’t have the luxury of sleeping
in, neither do I. (My choice.) Oh well, it’s one of life’s many great
mysteries.
Sunday was a lazy one. Brutus and I walked our three miles
to the local lake and back. With the cool and dry air, I picked the pace up a
bit.
A cool and shaded Pentoga Road. |
The rest of the day was spent fiddling around the house,
taking a drive, doing a bit of shopping… typical Sunday afternoon activities.
It was a relaxing day.
There's always time to stop at Insurance Liquidators to look for a bargain. |
The squirrels were out in force last evening and I tried to
plink one or two with the pellet gun. As usual, I wasted a lot of pellets with
no results. I eventually set a live trap and hopefully, the first of several
of the little buggers will be caught when I check later.
We found this delightful curbside flower garden while driving down a back street in Iron River. It's outside an old abandoned building that has been made into apartments. |
Sargie’s back to working at the Vision Center today. I’m
going to pick some fresh green beans to have with supper tonight. The tomatoes
have become top heavy again and need further staking. I’ve thought about going
fishing, but I’ll have to see how the mood moves me. There’s always plenty to
do. After all, a man’s work is never done.
So are the tales from Pentoga Road…
